Have you ever wanted to paint more…
but found yourself stuck wondering what to paint — or not following through?

You save tutorials.
You think about painting.
You want to paint…

…but it just doesn’t happen as often as you’d like.

Introducing:

The Studio

formerly the ipaintedthat challenge

A watercolor-focused, landscape-inspired space to paint consistently, explore creatively, and grow into your own style — alongside other painters.

This is your place to come back to your practice.

The real reason you’re not painting consistently

It’s not because you don’t care.
It’s not because you’re not motivated enough.

It’s usually much simpler than that:

  • You don’t know what to paint
  • You overthink your reference
  • You wait until you “feel inspired”
  • You end up painting… less than you want to

What changes everything

When you remove that friction…

When you don’t have to figure out what to paint…

When you see other people showing up…

When you have a simple rhythm to return to…

You start painting more

And when you paint more:

  • You improve
  • You gain confidence
  • You start finding your own style

WHO THIS IS FOR

This is for you if:

  • You struggle with what to paint
  • You want to paint more consistently
  • You’ve followed tutorials, but want to grow beyond them
  • You want to improve — without pressure or perfection
  • You like the idea of painting alongside others
  • You want a balance of structure + creative freedom

You don’t need to be advanced.

👉 You just need to be willing to show up.

WHY THIS COMMUNITY

The Studio is built from something simple that worked:

👉 When people had a reference
👉 When they saw others showing up
👉 When they had a loose rhythm

They painted more.

And not just that —

They improved.
They experimented.
They started finding their own style.

What we’ve learned

You’re much more likely to paint when:

  • You don’t have to decide what to paint
  • You’re not doing it alone
  • You have a simple structure to return to
  • You feel encouraged, not pressured

What The Studio is now

A space that keeps everything that worked…

…and makes it more sustainable, supportive, and flexible.

Off social media

So you can focus on creating —
not scrolling.

Built-in support

With live paint-alongs and
shared learning.

Real community

Where you grow alongside
other artists.

This isn’t about starting over.

👉 It’s about continuing — with more space to grow.

Or maybe you're "collecting" pigments and relying on pre-mixed tubes instead of learning how to mix ...

And your paintings still don't quite look right.

That's because pre-mixed tubes:

  • Ruin the harmony of your painting, so the colors don't look like they belong together.
  • Restrict you to that color instead of free you to make your own.
  • Are sold as the solution to your color woes, when in fact they hold you back.

Color Week frees you from your reliance on pre-mixed tubes, tutorials, color recipes, and courses that sit on the shelf.

Whichever way ...

You’ve tried learning color before, and it didn’t stick.

You may have even tried “painting intuitively” - trusting your instincts - only to end up frustrated, second-guessing, and stuck.

And maybe you’ve noticed this pattern:

You understand something while watching
but when you sit down to paint alone, the confidence disappears.

That’s not because you’re lazy.
And it’s not because you “lack motivation" or talent ...

It’s because passive learning doesn’t create real skill.

Real skill is created by knowledge and active learning.

FINAL NOTE

You don’t need to become a “better artist” overnight.

You just need a place to keep showing up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why this community?

The Studio is born from the #ipaintedthat challenge — an email and Instagram-based painting practice I started in January 2024.

Each week, we painted the same reference photo (often crowd-sourced), and at the end of the week, we shared our work.

What started as a simple idea turned into something really special.

Over time, we noticed something:

People were actually painting. Consistently.

And not just that — they were improving, experimenting, and starting to find their own style.
